Jeff Helms
- Head Coach email For over 30
years, Coach Helms' involvement and experiences in competitive swimming
have been extensive as both a swimmer and a coach. During that time he
has participated as both swimmer and a coach in age group, high school,
collegiate and Masters swimming. Coach Helms was an all-state high
school swimmer, nationally ranked as a collegiate swimmer and has held
4 world records in U.S. Masters swimming. As both a coach and a
swimmer, Helms has had the benefit of being associated with some of the
best swimmers and coaches in the world.
Coach Helms is a Life Plus certified member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), and this includes his successful completion of ASCA's stroke, physiology, administration, and leadership schools, as well as continuing education which keeps his ASCA certification up-to-date; additionally, his current certification level ranks him in the top 7% of all ASCA certified coaches.
Coach Helms has, also, completed the course requirements towards his Masters degree in Sports Psychology with an emphasis towards motivation of athletes. Coach Helms will share the benefits of his personal and educational experiences daily with the members of NCAT.
Todd Nall
- Developmental Coach Coach Nall began coaching swimming in
San Antonio, starting off as an assistant coach at John Jay High School
in 2004.
After his first year, he accepted a head coaching at Holmes High School and would finish his San Antonio-area coaching experience at his alma mater, Smithson Valley High School.
With these positions also came the opportunity to work with the Alamo Area Aquatics Association (AAAA), particularly with younger age groups as well as in the AAAA summer league programs.
As his experience has progressed, so has his level of certification. Coach Nall has recently completed his ASCA Level II certification and is now focusing upon the Level III certification.
He currently resides in Kingwood, TX and is married to Vandi Nall. He and Vandi have one daughter, named Cambria. Coach Nall is optimistically looking forward to working with NCAT and the New Caney High School community and watching both grow together.
